His previous books include Ökolinguistik: Eine Einführung (Gunter Narr, 1993), Das Prinzip Spannung (Gunter Narr, 2003 (2nd ed. 2007)) and (co-edited together with Peter Muhlhäusler) The Ecolinguistics Reader (Continuum, 2001).
