Description

This chapter,  “Professional Development,” outlines what professional development entails for language teachers and why teachers should engage in professional development at all stages of their careers. The chapter suggests that professional development often entails the realization by teachers that a change may be necessary in their professional lives, though they may not be sure how to go about changing or what change would mean for them. However, after they begin to learn how to notice various events in their professional lives, they can engage in more formal professional development activities as outlined in the chapter
