Giovanni Deiana has taught biblical languages and biblical theology at the Pontifical Lateran University and at the Pontifical Urbaniana University. He is currently Professor Emeritus at the Pontifical Urbanian University. He has authored numerous works, including a commentary on Leviticus. He also collaborates with Biblica and Rivista Biblica Italiana.

The essays collected in this volume focus on methodological and historical topics related to the study of the history of Ancient Israel.
