Description
I suggest a historical outline in the Hellenistic period in six steps: on the identity of the Egyptian Moses; on a definite Egyptian connection; on Babylon and the Pharisees; on the non-lunar calendar common to the Sadducees and Essenes; on the Essene components in Rabbinic traditions; and finally, on the Essenes as heirs of the Egyptian Therapeuts.
