Description

Chapter 7 is concerned with the use of interpersonal GM in spoken Chinese. It reveals the distribution of differet types of interpersonal GM through an analysis of a large spoken Chinese corpus. This chapter establishes a framework for the description of social factors involved in the creation of spoken Chinese discourses by making reference to register theory in SFL.
