Description
In this study we review the evidence of the fortifications of Tell es-Safi/Gath, based on the results of the PEF excavations by Bliss and Macalister in 1899, and those of the current BIU excavations. We demonstrate that the fortifications of the upper tell noted by Bliss and Macalister are the Early Bronze Age fortifications of the city, reused in later periods as well, based on insights from the recent excavations
