Description
Ananda, the Buddha’s chief attendant, is now introduced. He sees the women and asks Gotami why they have come. She explains, and he goes to see the Buddha on their behalf, asking about their right to ordination. A discussion between the Buddha and Ananda ensues. Eventually, the Buddha says yes.
