Description
Paganism in Russia and Ukraine grew after the Soviet Union collapsed. Many leaned towards ethnonationalism and used symbols associated with German Nazis. The Donbas war militarised many Pagans. Russia's intervention highlighted the Azov Battalion's use of Nazi symbols. However, Paganism's role in the conflict has been politically side-lined, with both sides minimising the acknowledgement of Pagans.
